If you’re looking for a peaceful escape, this place is absolute perfection. The cabins are nestled right in the middle of a beautiful forest, with a gentle, babbling stream nearby and nothing but the soothing sounds of birds all around you. As long as your neighbors are respectful and quiet, it will be very peaceful. The attention to comfort and detail was incredible. The towels and robes were unbelievably soft, and the bathroom had heated floors that made chilly mornings feel luxurious. The bed was easily one of the coziest I’ve ever slept in—plush, warm, and impossible to get out of. A s’mores kit was waiting for us, along with hot chocolate, coffee, and tea. Just outside the door was our own fire pit- the only downside was that all of the wood was wet. Every part of the experience felt thoughtful and relaxing, from the natural setting to the cozy amenities. It’s the kind of place where you truly disconnect, slow down, and soak in the quiet beauty around you. I would absolutely give this stay five stars and can’t wait to come back.

Glen Oaks was a perfect place to stay in Big Sur- close to several hikes, including one on property. The room was well designed (matched the natural setting very well) and everything was super clean. I would definitely stay here again!

We visited in Jan 2026 stayed 2 nights. Quiet and well designed in details, including the 2 books by bed. It only has 16 cabins. Super warm and cozy indoor, easy access to most state parks and local dining.

I loved everything about this place! The location, the entire property, the room, the coffee and donuts in the morning, etc. When I return to the Big Sur area, I will only stay here. It was very clean (and I’m very picky) and inviting. It was such a cool and unique stay. I couldn’t recommend it more.

I'm a Big Sur wedding and elopement photographer, and if there's one place I recommend to couples, it's Glen Oaks. Easily one of the most popular spots to elope in Big Sur, Glen Oaks has lots of different cabins to choose from and beautiful redwoods trails all around their property. There's also a trail that goes to the river where you can sit on Adirondack chairs. I highly recommend staying at the Redwood Grove cabins or Bridge House, since the Adobe Motor Lodge rooms and Oak Tree cottages are on the opposite side of the highway. All the cabins are a little different, so definitely take a look at each of them! Most of them have patios and fire pits, some even have outdoor tubs. If you want more privacy, the Bunk House and Bridge House are located across a suspension bridge, so they're much more private than the other cabins. There's also good wifi here, which is great because there's not much cell service in Big Sur. Sometimes you might even see deer roaming around which makes it all the more magical!

For us we booked the little cabins in the red wood. It’s very discrete and hard to find without a verbal explanation of how to get there. We came late and almost missed office hour. To be honest without the front desk telling us how to find our cabin, we would probably not find it at all. Luckily, we arrived before 9 pm, and got directions from the front desk with a map. It was an amazing spot to stay! Very quiet, there’s a stream near by with chairs to sit, and complimentary fire woods, fire starter, matches, hot chocolate, marshmallows, utensils… etc. The most surprising of it all is that the bathroom floor is heated. In addition, our neighbors followed the quiet hour rules, and we had very good sleeps. Clean cabin, clean sheets, honestly just how I imagined a tiny cabin stay would be with nicer amenities. The best part of it is the location is close to many of the state parks in the area! McWay falls is 22 mins away, Carmel by the sea is 40 mins as reference.

I would say this is a 4 or 5 star hotel, not 3 star like google says. I was here for my birthday weekend and they greeted me with a complimentary champagne bottle! The bathroom flowers can be warmed up. The room had its own gas fireplace. In the evenings you can get complimentary smores kit to make by the fire they set up every evening. I loved this place. I can’t wait to be back!

My husband and I stayed here on a road trip down the CA coast. We felt like the rooms had a fun style, were clean, had good privacy and also had comfortable beds. The grounds were beautiful, we had fun walking the trails through the forest. The suspension bridge was really fun to stumble across and the sounds of the river were so peaceful. We also were happy with the restaurant as well. We would visit again and recommend to others as well!
